A wonderful gold and enamel case, dating from the late 17th century.
Outer diameter : 40 mm.
Inner diameter : 32.7 mm.
Inner depth, to case rim : 12.5 mm.
Outer depth, to case rim : 13.5 mm.
The bezel is absent, but the hinge is complete.
The back enamel depicts The Judgement of Paris. There is a little rubbing around the edges, and some light scratches.
The band shows four cartouches with country scenes. Again a little rubbing, and three short cracks.
The inside shows a scene with a large house, lake, bridge, trees and a single figure. Fine condition.
The gold stem and bow are in good condition.
This case was probably made in France, during the late 17th century.
